Most of us were able to play on the console or computer for a few hours every day when we were kids without thinking about when we had to finish. We don’t have as much time as we once had as adults, therefore we value any opportunity to play more.
As a very busy father, I well understand how challenging it is to schedule your day so that you can balance work, family, and hobbies, especially when you have up to three of these responsibilities when your child is still learning to walk. I recently had the idea for such an essay, which is a compilation of 25 remarkably successful products that may be accomplished in no more than two hours. Recently, I began searching my game collection for these kinds of games, and it turned out that I already had a sizable number of them. Without further ado, I’d like to welcome you to read my author’s evaluation of some brief but compelling video games. Important information towards the end: I used HowLongToBeat to get the game times.
Journey/Flower/Flow – from 1.5 hours to 2 hours
Let’s start with the biggest classics of this sector, i.e. the trilogy of games from thatgamecompany. Regardless of whether you choose Flow, Flower or Journey, you will be guaranteed great entertainment that will not only give you a lot of fun, but also offer something more – some educational and emotional added value.
Dead Space: Ignition – 1.5 hours
Give Dead Space: Ignition a try if you’re seeking a straightforward cerebral challenge yet are tired of the same old, sweet puzzle games. The entire thing is available on Game Pass, even though it’s neither a full-fledged horror game or the best game ever. Still, it offers a fascinating peek at the adored franchise.
A Memoir Blue – 1 hour
A popular theme for video games that may both entertain and move us is the personal stories of the developers. A Memoir Blue is a relatively light adventure about issues in the daughter-mother relationship, however not everyone is emotionally prepared to face That Monster, Cancer. A few conundrums, a few happier times, and simple victories.
Frog Detective trilogy – 45 minutes to 2 hours
Whether the SUPERHOT team is currently working on their own project is unknown, but they are undoubtedly publishing some really intriguing stuff. The Frog Detective trilogy, a set of straightforward comedic games featuring a frog detective investigating crimes, was one of them. You’ll get puzzles, a few jokes, and a decent plot—everything you’d expect.
Dear Esther – 1.5 hours
A somewhat obscure and perhaps already-forgotten game called Dear Esther debuted on the market during the height of the walking simulator boom. In about 90 minutes, it offers an engaging tale about reading a letter to Esther. It’s interesting how the game delivers various visual cues and monologues on every replay.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe – 2 hours
A few years ago, the understated The Stanley Parable shown to us how to expertly manipulate our perceptions and employ a variety of strategies to throw us off balance, make fun of our routines, and generally give us a remarkable experience. The game’s 1.5 to 2 hour runtime is the only improvement provided by the Ultra Deluxe Edition.
Gone Home – 2 hours
A few years ago, Gone Home shone thanks to its eerie aura, strange ambiance, and incredibly intriguing puzzles. It’s true that the game’s conclusion left a lot to be desired, but this is a minor annoyance in such a fantastic trip. The ability to complete this article in under 60 seconds is an intriguing fact.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes – 2 hours
If you are unfamiliar with Metal Gear Solid and are unsure whether this type of entertainment appeals to you, it is worthwhile to familiarize yourself with the larger paid prologue to Metal Gear Solid V, which, by providing 1 location and a few straightforward tasks, enables us to sample the genius of Hideo Kojima and former Konami.
The Looker – 1.5 hours
Recognize The Witness? We therefore give you a free game that was motivated by Jonathan Blow’s accomplishments. Sayonara Wild Hearts blends excellent music and dramatic gameplay directly from the biggest indie action hits. Here, you won’t find a wide open world or more freedom, but you will find an hour and a half of fast-paced, furious action.
Florence – 45 minutes
There aren’t many games like Florence on the market, and I’m not even sure whether there are any games like Florence. You will meet the main character, her boyfriend, her family, and various vicissitudes of her everyday life in this hand-drawn journey that lasts about 45 minutes. You did read that correctly. There is nothing spectacular in this story – just an ordinary girl leading an ordinary life. Yet, this was the ideal content, and it helped the creators win The Game Awards for the best mobile game.
A Short Hike – 1.5 hours
Mountain climbing need not always result in death, and it is not always necessary to flee a serial killer after visiting a summer college. WA Your objective on Short Hike is to ascend the mountain in order to reach the signal and dial your mother. Simply. That is all there is to it.
What Remains of Edith Finch – 2 hours
It’s difficult to deny that What Remains of Edith Finch is still the best and weirdest “walking simulator” available today. Gorgeous scenery, an engaging plot, and themes that are straight out of the best international movies. You merely need to catch up if you haven’t read this story yet.
Wheels of Aurelia – 15 minutes
Merely 15 minutes of entertainment, but up to 16 distinct conclusions. That sounds intriguing. Wheels of Aurelia was purposefully designed to be as brief as possible, yet there is a method to this madness. Although if this game lacks the wild intrigue of Twelve Minutes, it is still worthwhile to go on this enchanted adventure.
Samorost 1 + 2 – from 15 minutes to 1 hour
Samorost is the ideal option for you if you enjoy playing quality puzzle games. If you enjoy the free “one,” which gives you a taste of the authors’ ideas for 15 minutes, you can confidently try the paid “two,” which will subject you to an hour of intellectual challenge.

You’ll remember playing a few rounds of slots back in the day when we used to insert pennies.
