A wave of layoffs is still sweeping through the gaming industry. This time, Digital Bros., which owns 505 Games, announced its plan to lay off approximately 30% of its employees.
Digital Bros., which owns, among others, 505 Games justifies its decision as follows:
“The video game market has evolved since the pandemic towards more demanding customers who are looking for recognized brands, playing titles longer than before. We must adapt to the changing business environment (…).
Due to these changes, we have revised our release plans to focus on existing, successful IPs. This involves modifying the structure of our organization. As part of the restructuring program, we expect to reduce approximately 30% of global positions.
As part of Digital Bros. There are a number of well-known companies in the video game industry. This includes: 505 Games , DR Studios, Kunos Simulazioni (authors of the Assetto Corsa brand), Avantgarden (creators of Last Day of June), Nesting Games, Supernova Games, Infinity Plus Two (authors of Puzzle Quest 3) and Ingame Studios, which has Crime Boss in its portfolio : Rockay City . We don’t know yet exactly which teams will be laid off.
