Based on what we’ve seen of it so far, it very much seems like it’ll continue to toe the line between recreating and reimagining the way that a previous couple of Resident Evil remakes have done. After a couple of years of sustained leaks and rumors, a ground-up remake of Resident Evil 4 has finally been officially announced at long last. One component of this, of course, is giving previously established characters a new lease of life, and to that end, we have some fresh information.
To be more specific, we are aware of the person who will serve as the inspiration for Ashley Graham in the game. Ella Freya, a Dutch Instagram model, made the revelation that she is the facial model for the character not long after the announcement video for the remake was released. She made the disclosure on Twitter.
She added in one of her tweets, “When I saw the trailer, I was practically weeping,” and then she followed up with another tweet that said, “I’m so thrilled to join the RE family.”
For those who aren’t aware, Ashley Graham is an extremely important character in Resident Evil 4. She is significant to the narrative of the video game from the very beginning to the very end since she is the daughter of the President of the United States, and the protagonist, Leon S. Kennedy, has been tasked with saving her from a hostile organization and bringing her back to her father. It is currently unknown to what extent her part or character will be altered in the new version of the movie.
It is also important to note that Freya has simply contributed her facial likeness to Ashley’s character. This is something that is worth pointing out. There has been no announcement made on the actor who would play her or provide her voice yet.
On May 24, 2023, Resident Evil 4 will be available for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
