Capcom said on Thursday, during Sony’s State of Play Livestream, that a remake of Resident Evil 4 is in development and will be released on consoles and personal computers on March 24, 2023. The game will also include content for PlayStation VR2 when it is released. The graphics in the game have been considerably improved, but it still maintains the same eerie mood that made it popular when it was released in 2005. This was demonstrated in a new video.

“This time, the game is being created to achieve state-of-the-art quality for a survival horror suited for 2023,” Capcom announced on Sony’s PlayStation Blog, “while still keeping the essence of the original game.” “Our goal is to provide a new experience while yet giving fans of the series the impression that they are playing a familiar game,” This is being accomplished by rethinking the game’s plot while preserving the core of its overall direction, bringing the graphics up to date, and bringing the gameplay mechanics up to speed with contemporary expectations.

According to the official description of the remake, the essential elements of the story have been preserved: In this installment of the Resident Evil series, which takes place six years after the events of Resident Evil 2, ex-cop and survivor Leon S. Kennedy is tasked with traveling to a secluded village in Europe in order to locate and save the daughter of the President of the United States. After Leon learns that the people of the hamlet are in grave danger, he and his companions make an attempt to save them.

The RE4 remake was at first just going to be available for the PlayStation 5, but it has since been confirmed for the Windows PC as well as the Xbox Series X.

GameCube was the first console on which you could purchase Resident Evil 4, and at first, it was a platform exclusive. After its initial release, RE4 was ported to a variety of platforms, including Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii, Windows PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. In recent years, Capcom has published reimaginings of earlier entries in the series, such as Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, among other titles in the genre.
