Cuphead’s first and only paid downloadable content pack, The Delicious Last Course, was delayed for a very long time but was definitely worth the wait. This is also true for Studio MDHR; the developer has verified that one million unitsĀ of the game have been sold across all platforms in a little under two weeks. Since the 30th of June, players can purchase the downloadable content for $7.99 on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
“This represents an even speedier timeline than it took for the original game to achieve this significant feat, and we are just over ourselves with delight and admiration,” stated Studio Director and Executive Producer Maja Moldenhauer. Although these words cannot possibly express how grateful we are, we would want to say to all of the incredible people that play Cuphead around the world: “thank you from the very bottom of our hearts.”
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course ushers in an all-new narrative with its release, one in which the protagonists, Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms. Chalice, collaborate with the game’s protagonist, Chef Saltbaker, to unravel the mysteries surrounding the Legendary Chalice. The new zone, which takes place on Inkwell Isle 4, is packed with challenging bosses for players to take on. In order to level the playing field, players can acquire new weapons and Charms, while Ms. Chalice comes equipped with her own set of special skills (like parrying with dashes).
After the popularity of the downloadable content, it is unknown what the next step will be for the series; nevertheless, additional updates are expected to be released in the coming months. In the meanwhile, we ask that you stay tuned.
