The developer of Destiny 2, Bungie, said in the most recent episode of “This Week at Bungie” that the annual event known as Solstice of Heroes would be held again on July 19th. In the future, it will be known simply as Solstice, but players will still have the opportunity to acquire new armor sets. However, you won’t be able to complete any of the objectives necessary to upgrade it.
Instead, there will be Event Challenges that players need to achieve in order to progress through the new Bonfire Bash in the European Aerial Zone. While participating in this activity, players will be tasked with starting “paracausal bonfires” and fending against waves of monsters consisting of Taken, Hive, Fallen, and Cabal. During the course of the event, you will only be able to level up a single set of armor, but you will receive numerous drops of each individual piece. The ability to reroll an item’s statistics is one of the benefits of upgrading armor.
The second significant new element is the revamped Event Card. Along with varied Challenges, it introduces a variety of one-of-a-kind Rewards, Seals, and Titles (think of it as a limited-time Battle Pass). When Events Challenges are completed, players have the opportunity to gain Shaders, Emblems, items, and Events Tickets. All Event Challenges are available from the moment the event begins. In addition, the new Eververse items will be accessible through the new Event Card; but, in order to use them, you will need to pay 1,000 Silver to upgrade it.
It has been estimated by Bungie that the improved Event Card is worth more than 3,000 Silver, which is not a trivial amount by any means. When the event is over, every Events Ticket will become invalid, thus it is important to spend them prudently. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for additional information regarding the upgrade of the Solstice Armor.
