Techland’s support for the original Dying Light has been nothing short of outstanding, with the game receiving fixes and upgrades large and small on a consistent basis even years after its release. With Dying Light 2 Stay Human in the works, however, the Polish developer is preparing to devote its full attention to the sequel– but not before wrapping up the original game with a bang.
The final patch for Dying Light is now available, and it includes a High Performance option for Xbox Series S, additional content for Hellraid, and the release of the Dieselpunk DLC pack for the original game. As part of this grand finale, Techland has also announced that everybody who already owns the regular edition of Dying Light will be immediately upgraded to the Enhanced Edition for free.
In other words, you’re getting a substantial amount of fresh content absolutely free of charge! Among the many features in Dying Light: Enhanced Edition is a substantial expansion in the form of Dying Light: The Following, as well as four DLC packs that add additional content, skins, weapons, and a new gameplay style. The four DLC packs in question are titled Bozak Horde, Cuisine and Cargo, Ultimate Survivor Bundle, and Crash Test Skin Bundle, and they are available for purchase in the store.
Simply starting up the game and selecting “DLC Packs” from the main menu will allow you to access all of the previously listed material without having to pay a single penny more for a copy of the game’s standard edition.
In addition to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the game is also available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, as well as being released as a cloud-exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch.
