Earth Defense Force, a massive insect/monster hunting extravaganza from D3 Publisher, is considered a cult favorite among gamers. In spite of the fact that it does not have the same luster as many high-budget games, it is nevertheless well appreciated and has a large following of followers.
However, the long-running series’ next numbered installment, Earth Defense Force 6, has finally received a Japanese release date after being delayed since 2021. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 systems on August 25, according to the official release date announced by Capcom. Additionally, players of the PlayStation 4 will be able to update their copy to the PlayStation 5 version at no additional cost after purchasing the game.
The basic version will cost 8,980 yen, while the deluxe edition will cost 12,100 yen. Both editions will be available in English. It will come with a season pass, and PlayStation Plus members will receive a 15 percent discount if they pre-order the deluxe edition. Furthermore, D3 Publisher has released pre-order incentives for the game, which include a special plasma core, as well as early adopter goodies that include three decoys for the game’s first 100 players.
It has not yet been announced when the game will be released in the West, but given D3 Publisher’s track record with the franchise, it shouldn’t be too long before the news is made. We’ll keep you informed as soon as further information becomes available.
