For months, Sony promoted the “first next-gen Square Enix game”, securing up to 2 years of exclusivity and receiving a guarantee that the title would not be released on Xbox Series X|S. We remember exactly what happened with Forspoken and how “enthusiastically” the title was received by the recipients. Currently, the production is available at a very low price.
In 2023, we saw many loud and solid debuts, but some players will not forget the first major premiere of Square Enix from 11 months ago. The Japanese started the year with Forspoken – ratings of 64%, unexciting plot base and a number of shortcomings meant that the position was closer to complete failure than success. And attempts to expand the story by extending In Tanta We Trust didn’t help.
However, store chains do not intend to keep Forspoken boxes in warehouses any longer. On Black Friday, many British stores launched promotions including significant discounts on the Frey Holland adventure.
Amazon UK, GAME and HMV are selling the title for £9.99, Argos is offering the game for £11.99, while Smyths has introduced a record discount of 86%, which allows you to buy the game for just £7.99.
You can buy Forspoken in a physical edition for PLN 40 to PLN 60, while on Steam the price is still PLN 339 for the basic edition – until recently, you had to spend a similar amount on the PlayStation Store, but a Black Friday promotion has started and the game costs PLN 135.60 zloty.
Let us recall that Luminous Productions, the authors of the production, were absorbed into the main Square Enix team due to the game’s disastrous reception.
