Gotham Knights is a sort of meta-sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, in that it takes place in Gotham City. Although not technically linked, the game is being released exclusively for lovers of the best Batman video game series. Dark, brutal, and filled with intense fighting in close quarters.
The Dark Knight himself perished, as did Commissioner Jim Gordon, who died with him in the same incident. Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood were the new heroes who took over. Young, ruthless, and filled with a burning desire to exact revenge on the city that abandoned them as orphans. Some have even done it twice.
This is revealed in a new gameplay demo: the Red Hood stuffs opponents with bullets from two hands and explodes with bombs, whereas Nightwing viciously strangles criminals and throws them from roofs, revealing their true nature. The gameplay of the characters displayed differs significantly not just in terms of mechanics, but also in terms of aesthetics. When they work together, they are twice as effective as they would be individual.
Gotham Knights will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on October 25, 2022. Support for previous consoles has been removed from the product.
