A really intriguing piece of news was just confirmed by Electronic Arts. The next installment of the Battlefield series is already in production and will feature a full-fledged story campaign written by Marcus Lehto.
The newest developer in the Electronic Arts portfolio is Ridgeline Games, who will also work on the highly regarded shooter. “A crucial role in building the series’ future” was given to the developers.
The Seattle-based Ridgeline Games has been introduced by Electronic Arts Inc. as the newest member of their family of more than 20 development teams. The company Ridgeline Games, led by Marcus Lehto, a co-creator of Halo, will concentrate on developing a story campaign set in the Battlefield universe.
It is most likely not a great surprise if you are interested in the shooter genre because there have been recent reports that Marcus Lehto’s new team is working on a fictional campaign for the upcoming Battlefield.
Lehto, director of games and CEO of Ridgeline Games, said, “It’s a real honor to be able to work with DICE and Ripple Effect to lead the push to enhance the narrative, storytelling, and character development capabilities of the Battlefield brand.
The Halo universe was co-created by the extremely fascinating Marcus Lehto, who most recently served as the CEO and Creative Director of V1 Interactive. His team produced Disintegration, but the project was abandoned after a few months.
Marcus and the crew are eager to develop stories and take gamers on exciting adventures that are only possible in the Battlefield universe because they have ambition, enthusiasm, and years of experience playing many of the best games in the business.
