At the same time as 343 Industries is preparing for Halo Infinite‘s next Season Lone Wolves, it is simultaneously preparing a long-awaited mode for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which will be released this week. Using a graphic of a player fighting against the Flood, the developer suggested that “something new” is on the way in a recent tweet. Long story short, it’s a flood-fighting operation.
This mode of Halo 3: ODST is more about fighting off the Covenant across a fixed number of waves and rounds than it is about destroying their weapons and equipment. What role the Flood will play in this remains to be seen, but it should be the closest thing to an AI “zombies” style mode that the game Halo: The Master has seen thus far in its history. Keep an eye out for further information once the mode is live.
Season 2: Lone Wolves, the second season of Halo Infinite, will premiere on May 3rd. It includes two new maps, Breaker and Catalyst, as well as new free armor cores and even new game modes, such as Last Spartan Standing and Land Grab, among other things. In addition, there will be improvements to the Battle Pass, such as more personalization items in the free track, 1000 Credits for Premium Battle Pass users, and other features.
