Microsoft is increasingly boldly reminding players about the release of next year’s game by Ninja Theory. Hellblade 2 appeared in the latest advertisement and was presented at The Sphere , and now the developers have published another material presenting the process of preparing for the anticipated adventure.
Hellblade 2 was announced together with Xbox Series X, and at that time developers were already promising a truly next-gen experience. The game is scheduled to hit the market next year, so the team has published a new diary during which the company talks about the creation of the main character.
Ninja Theory has used the latest technology to present a completely new quality – the creators want to literally “transcend the boundaries of realism in games” and this will be possible thanks to, among others, the latest technology.
In this case, the developers decided to develop many real elements (for example, clothes) in order to be able to then transfer real items to the game – the company did not decide to make it potentially easier to develop the outfits using computer graphics.
Ninja Theory utilized the skills of experienced costume designers and, using traditional materials and period-appropriate techniques, were able to achieve “a level of realism and detail that simply would not be possible using purely digital techniques.” This situation helps actors get into the role better, and at the same time developers can take care of details such as how well the outfit fits the body.
The company confirmed that it has partnered with 3Lateral again to digitally scan the actors. As a result, players will experience a new quality. The studio captures literally “terabytes of data for every minute Melina registers at the scanning facility.”
