About a week ago, the Mercenaries part of Resident Evil 4 Remake came out. In this phase, players can choose one of the game’s characters to take on challenges where they must kill all enemies before time runs out. These characters will fight groups of bad ganados. When you kill an enemy, you get more points and more time.
In the Mercenaries remake mode, you can fight the Ganado with figures like Louis and Honk, as well as Leon and Krauser. At the moment, you can’t fight with an Ada or Wesker character. And there’s a new feature called Chaos Mode. When a meter at the bottom of the screen fills up, it gives your character special powers. Depending on which character you play, these skills are different. For example, Leon’s Mayhem mode makes him stronger and faster, and Krauser can briefly change into his monster form.
This guide and tips piece will explain how to unlock each character in Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Mercenaries mode.
How to unlock Leon character?
By default, Leon is unlocked, and players will start out in Mercenary mode. Leon is not bad at anything in particular. His gun is great for making close-range strikes, killing weaker enemies, and keeping mobs away. When it comes to crowds, Leon is the only one with a gun, the strong Riot Gun. This weapon is great for killing enemies up close and also for killing harder enemies like Dr. Salvador and the Minotaur. Last, his Mayhem mode is the easiest to use because it just makes him stronger and faster.
Weapons: SG-09 R, Stingray, Riot Gun, Combat Knife
Mayhem Mode Ability: Increased strength and speed
Melee Attack: Unleash a powerful kick on stunned enemies while they’re in front of you or summon Leon’s wrestling prowess and suplex enemies while behind.
How to unlock Luis character?
If you play Leon and get an A or better on any stage, you can play as Louis. In theory, it’s not hard to get an A grade. It’s just a matter of making use of each character’s knowledge and strengths. Lewis is a better choice in terms of skill than Lyon. His Red9 is good up close and at middle range, and his sniper rifle is good at killing enemies from farther away. Lewis is best played by people who know a lot about the maps and how to place him. He can set off timed packages of dynamite with his Chaos Mode. Louis will win if he sets up these traps and keeps his enemies at bay.
Weapons: Red9, SR M1903, Boot Knife, Flash Grenade
Mayhem Mode Ability: Timed Dynamite
Melee Attack: Luis channels his inner Mike Haggar and swings a yellow pipe. Additionally, he can shoulder charge enemies.
How to unlock Krauser character?
If you play as Luis and get an A or better on any stage, you can unlock Krauser. The guy who used to be Leon’s friend is more of a boxer, especially in chaos mode. His explosive ammo for his compound bow makes it great for killing harder enemies and mobs. The TMP SMG can weaken foes so that Krauser’s powerful melee attack can be used on tougher Ganados. His crazy life turns him into a biological weapon that is out of control. But Krauser moves very slowly when he changes into a monster. We suggest that you try to group enemies together so that you can use the powerful thrust attack. The normal pieces are not very strong on their own.
Weapons: EJF-338 Compound Bow, TMP, Survival Knife, Flash Grenades
Mayhem Mode Ability: Switch to Las Plagas biological weapon
Melee Attack: Dashes forward through enemies with a dash attack.
How to unlock Hunk character?
Finally, Hunk is unlocked by obtaining an A rank or higher at any stage when playing as Krauser. The indomitable machine has escaped from Raccoon City and is not about to let this Spanish village finish him off. Hunk comes with a very limited inventory, a LE 5 SMG, a boot knife, some grenades as well as the smallest character health kit. The alternative here is that Hunk’s melee attack can fire at any enemy and his Mayhem mode gives him infinite ammo without having to reload. With enough practice, Hunk could be the angel of death for Las Plagas.
Weapons: LE 5, Grenades, Boot Knife
Mayhem Mode Ability: infinite ammo
Melee Attack: Grab the enemy’s neck while they’re behind you or unleash a devastating kick while they’re in front of you.
