Even though Lies of P has been out for less than a couple of months, the developer and publisher, Neowiz, are already looking ahead to the future to determine how they might continue extending the intellectual property of the game following its successful premiere. Ji Won Choi, the director of the video game Lies of P, recently produced a video message in which he confirmed that a full-fledged sequel is also in the works while also announcing that story-downloadable content is now being developed for the game.
Choi stated that building the downloadable content (DLC) and working on the sequel were their top priorities. “The development team is putting in a significant amount of effort, brainstorming, and exploring different aspects of the projects.”
To see those plans now being confirmed in such a casual fashion is a surprise (but definitely a pleasant one), especially considering that the first game itself just launched a few weeks ago. Although there had been previous indications of DLC being in development, there had been no previous word of Neowiz also planning a sequel for Lies of P. Consequently, there had been no previous word of Neowiz also planning a sequel for Lies of P.
Then, when one considers the success that Lies of P has already achieved, it makes perfect sense for Neowiz to want to continue working on the intellectual property in question. Not only has the Soulslike action RPG garnered a lot of praise from reviewers and gamers alike, but it has also been a huge economic success, having sold over one million units in September despite the fact that it is also accessible on Game Pass. This is a testament to the game’s quality.
