The anticipation for the upcoming Pinocchio-inspired Souls-like action RPG Lies of P is strong, and it’s hardly surprising given how much of it we’ve seen recently and how many new facts we’ve learned about it. Developer Neowiz provided a second in-depth look at the game during the most recent Xbox Games Showcase Extended presentation, revealing a wealth of fresh information.
With hundreds of options allegedly available if you actually get down to mixing and matching with the tools you’ll have at your disposal, Lies of P will let players design their own weaponry. Beyond that, using your Legion Arm in battle will let you unleash powerful skills that will drain a gauge. The Legion Arm is a prosthetic arm.
Of course, there will also be a ton of scary foes for players to encounter. In the game’s gothic Bell Epoche setting, puppets abound, but you’ll also stumble into a range of monstrosities, including bone-crunching monsters. Meanwhile, in true Soulslike form, summoning a spirit to help you will also be an option if a specific monster should prove to be too difficult.
The P Organ, which will let users optimize and power up themselves by using a currency called Quartz to unlock new slots, has also been described in terms of progression mechanics. The Pinocchio setting will be seamlessly included into Lies of P’s choice and consequence mechanisms. Do you want to console an NPC by lying to them, or do you want to give them the truth about the state of the world?

On September 19, Lies of P will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. There is currently also a demo available.
