Since the game’s announcement in December 2014, CI Games‘ Lords of the Fallen 2 has experienced a difficult development period. Defiant Studios was working on it, and it was originally scheduled to release in 2017. (as opposed to Deck13 which worked on the original). The publisher, on the other hand, would split relations with Defiant in 2019. Hexworks had joined as the latest developer, but a release date appeared to be a long way off.
Although it has not been confirmed, according to CI Games’ most recent Consolidated Management Report, Lords of the Fallen 2 is expected to be launched in 2019. It will be a “full-price game” for the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with a global marketing campaign set to launch in the third quarter of 2022. “Since 2019, our own studio Hexworks has been working on the sequel to this franchise. ” “During the production of the game, our studio of more than 60 internal development team members collaborated closely with different third-party developers across a wide range of disciplines,” the publisher stated. ”
CI Games also disclosed that Unreal Engine 5 would be the “main engine for all important IPs currently in development,” which was a surprising revelation. It remains to be seen whether or not this applies to Lords of the Fallen 2 as well. According to reports, the sequel would include a “completely revamped” fighting system that will be tougher. Keep an eye out for further information in the coming months.
