A person on Reddit going by the handle hugeleakeractually (yes, really) disclosed the existence of Player First Games’ MultiVersus long before the game was formally introduced. Now they have returned and have disclosed new characters who have not been previously publicized. However, they are skeptical that the majority of these characters, including those that were datamined, will be available when the game first releases. “Defining launch is difficult to do regardless, especially considering that the majority of the staff isn’t thinking about the game in that sense.” The game was designed from the beginning to be played through a live service. This Alpha test could be considered the “launch,” according to certain standards.
On the list, you’ll find Lebron James (likely in his Space Jam: A New Legacy form), Scooby-Doo, Marvin the Martian from Looney Tunes, Rick and Morty from Rick and Morty, Marvin the Martian from Looney Tunes, Rick and Morty from Rick and Morty, the Hound and Daenerys from Game of Thrones, and Scooby-Doo from Looney Tunes. In addition, there is Godzilla, Gizmo from Gremlins, the Wicked Witch from “The Wizard of Oz,” Fred Flintstone from “The Flintstones,” and Gizmo from “The Flintstones.” Johnny Bravo, who was present in the first patch, has had some work done on him, and his appearance is still forthcoming.
The source of the leak claims that these were obtained through datamining and are “largely correct.” Even if other players have datamined additional areas, the leaker was only able to validate what was mentioned above. It appears that they are “almost finished,” therefore it is possible that we will hear more in the coming months.
Some of the other characters that are “very likely” to appear are as follows:
- Samurai Jack – Samurai Jack
- The Powerpuff Girls – Powerpuff Girls (all three as one fighter)
- The Animaniacs – The Animaniacs (allegedly all three as one fighter)
- Duck Dodgers/Daffy – Looney Tunes
- Scorpion – Mortal Kombat
- Ben 10 – Ben 10
- Ted Lasso – Ted Lasso
Recent events included a closed alpha test for MultiVersus. The full version of the game will be released this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. The open beta will go live in July. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned for further developments.
