Capcom‘s huge countdown announcement, unveiling Street Fighter 6 as its next big game, may have passed us by, but the company could be working on something else. On Twitter, Alex Aniel observed that the official History page for Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Outbreak had been updated.
The former appears to have had its artwork upscaled and a new description added. The assets for Resident Evil Outbreak look to have been considerably modified, as Project Umbrella RE:Digest on Twitter pointed out. When questioned if the source files had been re-rendered, the user said that the textures appeared to have been updated at the very least.
While it’s a long shot, this could indicate that Resident Evil Outbreak (together with its single expansion the File #2) will be remastered. The famed GeForce Now leak, which revealed several titles that were eventually announced, included Outbreak (like God of War on PC).
However, until an official announcement is made, take this with a grain of salt, especially as the Resident Evil 4 remake has yet to be confirmed.

Certainly looks like they updated the textures at least!

While the touch-ups aren’t enough to guarantee a remaster, it’s worth noting that Resident Evil Outbreak was referenced in the second Nvidia GeForce leak, with a March 2022 release date.
At the time of writing, Capcom had not revealed a remastered the game, and to be fair, the publisher would be unlikely to disclose a new game mere weeks before its release. As a result, fans should temper their enthusiasm and treat subsequent sightings as mere rumors.
In 2003 and 2004, PlayStation 2 games Resident Evil Outbreak and Outbreak: File #2 were released. The first horror game to offer cooperative gameplay was the original. The games were set around the same time as Resident Evil 2 and 3, and followed a series of episodic narratives set in Raccoon City.
