The Rockstar Games leak from today won’t let devs have a quiet holiday season. Following the disclosure of the GTA 5 source code and information on games created by American creators, the first information regarding the studio’s new name has already surfaced online.
According to the report, Rockstar Games is collaborating with a “hugely popular” outside team on a new intellectual property. The unidentified title has reportedly been under development since 2018, or since Red Dead Redemption 2’s release.
According to sources, Rockstar Games is currently developing two new IPs. The first of them is a revival of Agent from previous years, while the second is to be set in a medieval fantasy setting. Additionally, in October this year, Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of this band, registered the “Project Ethos” trademark, which may be related to the fantasy project. Based on rumors, Rockstar Games could challenge series such as The Elder Scrolls with its new franchise, where instead of firearms we would get… melee weapons and magic.
Only the upcoming console generation would see the release of the Agent project. We don’t know as much about Bully 2’s development status as we do about the fantasy game (though this doesn’t rule out it coming out soon after Grand Theft Auto 6), however we can infer from the most recent leak that it will be available soon. This will alter.
