During today’s Sonic Central broadcast, Sega demonstrated some new gameplay from the upcoming Sonic Frontiers game. In addition to the newly implemented gameplay, Sega has also made available a new animated special for the game named “Prologue.”
Knuckles is the main character in the animated special, which takes place before the events of Sonic Frontiers. This special is, in all actuality, just a teaser for a full-length, more extensive animation that will be released prior to the game.
In recently released footage of the game’s gameplay, Sonic can be seen traveling along paths that appear to have been constructed for the sake of boss battles. IGN conducted an in-depth hands-on preview of the next game, which shed light on some previously unknown information.
The preview suggests that the game will have a more somber atmosphere than its predecessors, which will be reflected in the game’s score. This is because the focus of the game will be on the mysteries that surround the island where Sonic is stranded on. The open world of Sonic Frontiers will also have boss battles, which have been described as having a magnitude that is comparable to that of Shadow of the Colossus.
A video that was uploaded earlier demonstrated almost six minutes of combatĀ from Sonic Frontiers. It includes a diverse assortment of adversary classes, geographical locales, and attack types.
The release of Sonic Frontiers on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC is scheduled for the holiday season.
