Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can be added to the expanding list of Electronic Arts works that won’t be released on consoles from prior generations. The developers admitted that they wanted to increase the scope of the game, thus they chose to concentrate on the strengths of the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
After Need for Speed Unbound, Dead Space Remake, and Wild Hearts, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the next game by Electronic Arts teams to forego older consoles. Electronics is the first such big publisher to launch new products exclusively on these three channels.
A teaser of Cal Kestis’ new adventure was featured in the most recent issue of PLAY magazine, and Stig Asmussen provided some additional project details. The focus on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and personal computers was explained by the director. It was initially about the production scale.
“You will profit from more potent gear throughout [Star Wars Jedi] Survivor. We rapidly discovered that we could make far larger maps with more detail, density, enemy/NPC variety, and overall fidelity by using faster CPUs, bigger/faster memory, better load times, etc. These characteristics are a wonderful match for the presumptions that guided the game’s development. Since the original game was well received, we didn’t want to ruin what we created there, but we still wanted to enhance the experience. We are now able to accomplish precisely that thanks to Next Generation, and I think that results in a genuine next-generation Star Wars experience.
Because of this, we will experience a more polished position. Respawn Entertainment did not want to lose all the advantages of the very positive reaction of its previous game set in the Star Wars world.
Remember that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will now premiere at the end of April after a delay. View the 9-minute gameplay trailer if you’re curious about the game.
