Since its recent premiere, Stray Bombay’s shooter has garnered over 200,000 players, and it appears that Game Pass has played a key role in that statistic.
The Anacrusis, developed by Stray Bombay, was just published to middling critical acclaim, yet it appears that critical acclaim hasn’t influenced fan reaction. The co-op shooter has had a strong start, with over 200,000 players signing up in its first week.
Chet Faliszek, a co-founder of the company, commended Xbox Game Pass for its success in a recent comment to NME. He also discussed the game’s immediate future plans, indicating that the team is focusing on adding more game material as well as features like mod support and a “Challenge Track.”
“It’s been incredible to see the community dive headfirst into the Anacrusis in the first week. We’ve witnessed a tremendous increase in players thanks to Game Pass, as well as a lot of favorable feedback from PC gamers. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and all of the input has been quite helpful. “As we work on new features like mod support and the upcoming Challenge Track, we continue to build additional game content and enhance what we already have,” Failszek added.
Elsewhere, 35 states in the US have said that Apple’s app store practices aim to overshadow the competition, backing claims made by Epic Games. The bipartisan group of attorneys general said in a court filing that the judge’s initial ruling that Apple’s App Store doesn’t have dominant control over the mobile app market was false.
The co-op shooter, which is currently in Early Access on PC and as part of the Game Preview program on Xbox is planned to release fully towards the end of 2022.
As part of this announcement, several fixes have been announced which will be implemented in an upcoming patch. These include fixes to the Spanish localization, an in-game language selector, fixes for Xbox Series X and Series S performance.
Hopefully, these adjustments will contribute to the game’s progress. On Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, The Anacrusis is now available in early access
