Digital Foundry once again faced a real beast. Specialists from Great Britain checked the next-gen edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with the latest update and the team brings a lot of positive information.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released at the end of last year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and an improved edition was released on personal computers. Not all players were delighted with the next-gen version of the game, because Geralt’s adventure faced a series of new problems.
CD Projekt RED has taken care of the fixes and the recently released patch 4.02 provides the “best experience yet” on consoles, and while the developers can still improve the gameplay, the game performs much better.
On PlayStation 5 we can experience the expected 60fps (in performance mode) at many points, and only places like Novigrad still cause some problems on the Sony console. The game works even better on Xbox Series X, where owners of the Microsoft console can count on the expected experience – in this case, even the largest city is not a problem.
The developers still need to fix the ray tracing mode, which in some situations does not even offer 30 frames, but in many scenarios The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt works much better.
