The first Dev Diary for Owlcat Games‘ upcoming role-playing game Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has been made available. The game’s makers go into great depth about creating the game in the following 3-minute video.
The first Dev Diary for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader gives us a look at some of the game’s stunning settings. Lead narrative designer Olga Kellner introduces the discussion by discussing how she breathed life into the epic bleak darkness of the 41st millennia.
Turn-based combat, space travel, void ship fights, intrigues, warp phenomena, and other elements that are distinctive to the Warhammer 40,000 universe will all be included in Rogue Trader’s adventures.
Players assume the role of a Rogue Trader who lives an exciting life on the outskirts of the Imperium of Mankind. Rogue traders make decisions that have far-reaching effects on entire star systems.
There is a good deal of freedom available to players in Warhammer 40,000. Players have the option of singing the God-Emperor of Mankind’s praises or joining forces with the human race’s foes, risking the wrath of the dreaded inquisitors.
The Dev Diary also suggests that a group of characters—rather than just one Rogue Trader—will appear in the game. Dangerous psykers, fervent battle sisters, an Eldar ranger, or even a Space Marine from the Space Wolves chapter may be allies in the game.
In June, information on Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was released. Although a release date has not yet been set, it is presently up for pre-order on PC. A beta is available to those who pre-order the game.
