One of the first titles from Xbox Game Studios to be released on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch is Pentiment. While Microsoft consumers can’t rely on these kinds of attractions, the title surprisingly makes use of the capabilities of Sony’s most recent platform.
One of the minor surprises and treasures from Obsidian Entertainment is Pentiment. The devs managed to fit in the development of a smaller game with a captivating story, well-done details, and an evocative environment in addition to working on massive RPG projects.
Last week we mentioned that a title with a medieval style debuted on Microsoft’s competitor consoles at good prices , which may encourage many players to check out the game.
The first comparisons of the game on individual platforms have appeared online, and for some users a big surprise will be its operation on PlayStation 5. The port produced by Obsidian Entertainment runs at 120 fps, while the first version developed for Xbox Series X|S will be played at 60 frames per second.
Pentiment is not a particularly demanding game, with 120 frames having a significant impact on the gameplay experience, but it is not known what is behind the decision of Obsidian Entertainment, which did not take care of the indicated fluidity when developing the production, at least on Xbox Series X.
You can see the visual comparison in the materials below, which gives the impression that the PlayStation 5 version of Pentiment has far more vibrant colors in certain areas than the Xbox Series X edition does.
