Through an unintentional inclusion on its PS Direct website, Sony has introduced a new bundle for the PS5, which includes a copy of Horizon: Forbidden West. The item was only online for a brief period of time. Although it has not yet been formally announced, it is expected that the cost of the bundle will cover both the price of the console and the price of the game itself, with a possible total discount of ten dollars. Wario64 found the bundle on Twitter and shared it with the community. Since the PlayStation 5 was initially released, this would be the very first package for the console. At the time of publication, it appears as though the listing is no longer being made available.
The current state of PlayStation’s first-party releases suggests that a bundle including Horizon: Forbidden West might be the best way to go. This would be in addition to a potential Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart bundle in the future, as both of these games, have more mass appeal than other PS5 exclusives such as Demon’s Souls and Returnal. Both of these games would be included in the bundle.
The Horizon: Forbidden West package for the PS5 does not appear to have received an official announcement or a release date as of yet. It wouldn’t be shocking, given the situation of console supplies everywhere in the world, to see the bundle go out of stock not long after it becomes available because of how quickly it will likely sell out. In general, since the PlayStation 5 was first made available to the public, consumer demand for the console has far outpaced the supply that Sony has been able to maintain up to this point.
Back in February, the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Horizon: Forbidden West were made available. After its publication, it was met with favorable critical reception.
